Beach vs. Indoor Volleyball : Court Sizes
Indoor courts are 18m x 9m, with a parallel attack line that is 3m from the center line. Back row players must stay behind this line when hitting the ball.
Beach courts are smaller--16m x 8m and there is no attack line. A player may hit the ball from anywhere on their side of the net. A smaller court ensures that the ball will stay live longer and rallies will be more entertaining. That's reason why the beach volley was more popular at the olimpics.
Beach court is smaller because instead of 6 people in the field (like indoor), there are only two of them.
Rotation of the players
While in the indoor volley all players have a specified position, and a exact place where they must be in the moment oponent hits the serve, in beach volley there are no such rules. Only rule about positions in beach volley is the sequence of serving – first serves the player No. one, then the No.2.
Balls
Indoor volleyballs are made of leather and are heavier than outdoor balls, so they are faster. But Mikasa is the top-ball-producer for both sports.
Beach volleyballs are softer, lighter and a bit bigger than indoor balls. The lighter weight allows them to float more in the air, allowing skilled and experienced players to use the weather to their advantage.
Official ball of the Association of Volleyball Professionals is the Wilson.
Scoring
First difference, in indoor volley game lasts until one team wins three sets (scoring goes to 25, or until one team wins two points more – for example, 28:26). This leeds to posibility that maximum number of sets coud be 5 sets (last one is played till 15, or until one team wins two points more – example, 19:17).
In beach volleyball, a match lasts untill one team wins two sets – and a set last until 21, or two points more than the oponent. Two sets wins the match, and the third tiebreaker set, if necessary, is also played to 15 points.
Every error means point for the oponent.
Choose the one you like more.. and enjoy playing volleyball!

LEARNING VOLLEYBALL SKILLS – keep the kids interested
Do you remeber when you started to train volleyball ?
If you were kid, you just wanted to hit the ball, play with it, make something better than your friends done it. But.. How much did you play at the beginning ?
Try to remembrer.. Coach told you to do some actions, over and over again.. Throw the ball, pass the ball, NOT HIT it.. and all you wanted to play !
In tennis, football.. many other sports, kids are encouraged to do the actions they have seen on TV, or done by older children. But in volleyball, a long period of time can pass before children actually can play a single action. Talking with the children, and their parents, maybe made a possible explantion why so many kids give up volleyball and try a different sport.
Problem is that volleyball is a unique sport, where you acctually depend of your co-players. If they can't do their job correctly, there's a great chance thay ball you should play won't even come to you. And to ensure a minimum of skill, many repetitions have to be done. Older players know that repetition will be usefull to their skill, but younger kids don't always understand that and they loose interest much sooner.
Solution for this problem may be to let the kids play, and not to insist on rules, so many repetitive actions.. They will have more than enough time to learn rules, techiques, and tactics.. if they decide to stay.

JUMP SERVE - make it perfect
If you like do every move with passion, make effort, or simply impress the crowd, you shouldn't skip the jump serve.
Done correctly, it is a perfect weapon. And ofence is the best defence, right ?
When attempting a jump serve, start several feet behind the end line, depending of the size of your steps. Longer legs, longer steps..so use more space. If you're about 190cm tall, stand about 3 meters behind the base line. Or simply, to ensure you took riht position, try to do steps you would do when you jump to spike. If you've jumped away of the line, go closer.
1. Place ball in left hand
2. Lean forward - that will ensure that ball caches spin. VERY IMPORTANT MOVE!
3. Toss the ball high and several feet in front of you - it should spin forward.
4. Use an abbreviated attack approach, swinging both arms behind you and then forward and up while stepping forward with the left foot and then a quick hop.
5. Jump up and forward, making sure to take off behind the end line.
6. Contact the ball at the top of your reach and the top of your jump.
7. Strike the ball toward the top of the back with your palm and follow through with your armswing, aiming outward and downward to put topspin on the ball.

INFLUENECE OF REPETITION
Playing volleyball is one of best ways to have fun, make friends, improve team spirit and burn calories. Many people want to skip straight to playing games, even if that means suffering through a rally-less bout of jungle ball. However, the best (and most fun) volleyball is played when the players control the ball, not the other way around. Repetition, even if it's boring, has to be done, until action is done right.
Struggling with serving? Get a bucket of balls and work on hitting serving targets or areas. Repeat this until you can put the ball in any part of the court at will.
If you want to improve your passing, have someone serve balls at you and around you and see how many you can put right on top of the setter's head. Challenge yourself with a goal of getting a certain number of perfect contacts and work until you reach that goal.
The same is true in setting, digging, hitting, blocking and any other skill you want to take to the next level.
You'll be surprised at how comfortable you get in different situations. You learn your strengths and your weaknesses. You learn to adjust. When you do finally get into a game, all this individual skill work will pay off and your overall understanding of the game and its skills will dramatically improve.
So next time you're at practice endlessly doing the same thing over and over again, remember that in the end, these reps are going to make you into the best player you can be. And by continuing to practice your skills, there will be no game situation that you can't handle.
